Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is an American-born British sitarist and musician. She is also the first and youngest woman to win the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka shankar is one of India's most promising stars on the sitar. She's a daughter of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Her childhood was spent bouncing around from London in the UK to New Delhi. When she arrived in New Delhi, she made her first appearance at only 13 years old. Then she relocated into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha's career as a performer and recorder is remarkable, even at her age. Since quite some time, she performs regularly alongside her father. Her debut solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. The album was titled the album Live At Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album a year after. Her stage career is very extensive for she has performed in most of the world's major venues. Anoushka isn't just a performer. Bapi: The of My Life of My Live is her 2002 book, which was a tribute Ravi Shankar. She's also acted. In the 2003 film Dance Like a Man, in which she played the role of a Bharat dancer in the form of a young girl. Anoushka's career is still developing and she is expected to accomplish many amazing things in the future. Anoushka shankar is an English born singer who travelled her childhood in London, Delhi and California. At the age of nine, she started studying music with her father, who made her debut on the sitar 4 years later at his birthday party in Delhi. Anoushka, who accompanied her father during his world tour, gained an impressive amount of experience. In her teenage years she played in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and even recorded with George Harrison. As a tribute to her status as a leading musician of Asian Arts, she was given the House of Commons Shield by British parliament.
